Which greatness, Mr. Trump are you talking about?

The concept of the greatness of America that is heralded by Trump at his rallies and in his propaganda belies the same character: as if to say the words he uses do not fit his USA.

The United States of America are experiencing a profound moral, social and political crisis in a pandemic context that has heavily affected the North American country. If America still remains a superpower it is because its strategists and armies think so stubbornly. But the world has stopped looking at it as an "American dream" country. The very idea of ​​making America great again or "Bring America great again" is a way to deceive the Americans and make them abandon even that pride and respect that had contradicted them in all these decades. If we live in a world where wars and injustices abound, where the planet's resources are scarce and where the climate has been heavily modified due to the wrong and self-destructive development model, where Africa suffers the consequences and hunger and where entire populations are forced to migrate in search of new lands and new shelters of which greatness, Mr. Trump are you talking about? If we look at your own America and observe the injustices, inequalities and vilencies against ethnic, religious and racial minorities, which big do you tell us about Mr. Trump? If we look at the other side of the continent of America, that is to say the poor one advancing to north, knocking on your America in search of food and progress when your walls have closed the country of the "American dream" of which greatness can you talk to us mister Trump? Dreams, food, freedom, democracy and solidarity must be defended and shared, otherwise that is not the America we know and have loved.

In truth, you tell us about a greatness that only you know, which is inherent in your megalomania, in your approach to issues, in your disrespect towards others, in continuing to think that you are the "man of destiny", but you are nobody.  In truth, you are a problem for democracy and for the  security of your citizens when you affirm the name and support those who plan to subvert the constitutional and democratic order in America. Obviously I accuse the racist militias, heirs of the Ku klux klan, the Proud Boys etc…, to which you alluded in your saying “Stand behind, stand by!”. It is a crazy and desecrated America that you have built in recent years, insecure and anarchic, permissive and indulgent both internally towards the violent and externally towards the dictatorships with which it has established alliances and projects that do not reflect that greatness much-regretted in "American vocation to fight for liberty, that is the one that had promoted your country as a bastion of democracy and the defense of human rights in the world. We therefore, as J’Accuse, ask Americans of good will to not give you their votes, because this second term will forever distance the American dream from the Americans themselves and turn the world into a hell of wars and misery. Our hope is in the repentance of the American democrats, in understanding that it is necessary to start having a new approach in international relations, an approach of peace and harmony among peoples and above all to start a new era of economic progress aimed at protecting nations and their environments. To Biden our call and vote to start working for the true greatness not only of Americans but of all human beings.

Il concetto stesso di grandezza dell’America che viene sbandierato da Trump mei suoi comizi e nella sua propaganda smentisce lo stesso personaggio: come a dire le parole che egli usa non si adattano ai suoi USA.

Gli stati Uniti d’America vivono una profonda crisi morale, sociale e politica in un contesto pandemico che ha investito pesantemente il paese nordamericano. Se l’America rimane ancora una superpotenza è perché lo pensano in modo ostinato suoi strateghi e i suoi eserciti. Ma il mondo ha smesso di guardare ad essa come un paese del “sogno americano”. L’idea stessa di rendere l’America grande ancora ossia “Bring America great again” è un modo per ingannare gli americani e farli abbandonare persino quell’orgoglio e quel rispetto che li aveva contraddisti in tutti questi decenni. Se viviamo in un mondo dove pullulano le guerre e le ingiustizie, dove le risorse del pianeta stanno scarseggiando e dove il clima è stato pesantemente modificato per colpa di modello di sviluppo sbagliato e autodistruttivo, dove l’Africa ne patisce le conseguenze e la fame e dove intere popolazioni sono costrette a migrare in cerca di nuove terre e di nuovi rifugi di quale grandezza mister Trump ci stai parlando? Se guardiamo alla tua stessa America e osserviamo le ingiustizie, le disuguaglianze e le vilenze a danno delle minoranze etniche, religiose e razziali di quale grande ci parli mister Trump? Se andiamo a guardare all’altra parte del continente America, vale a dire quella povera che avanza verso il nord, che bussa alla tua America in cerca di cibo e di progresso quando i tuoi muri hanno chiuso il paese del sogno americano, di quale grandezza ci parli mister Trump? Il sogno, il cibo, la libertà, la democrazia e la solidarietà devono essere difese e condivise, altrimenti non è quella l’America che conosciamo e che abbiamo amato.

In verità tu ci parli di una grandezza che conosci solo tu, che è insita nella tua megalomania, nel tuo approccio alle questioni, nel tuo non rispetto verso il prossimo, nel continuare a pensare che sei l’uomo del destino, ma non sei nessuno. In verità sei un problema per la democrazia e per la stessa sicurezza dei tuoi cittadini quando tu sostieni e affermi coloro che progettano di sovvertire l’ordine costituzionale e democratico in America. Accuso ovviamente alle milizie razziste, eredi del Ku klux klan, ai Proud Boys ecc…, a cui hai alluso nel tuo dire “Stand behindm stand by!”. E’ un’America folle e dissacrata quella che hai costruito in questi anni, insicura e anarchica, permissiva e indulgente sia all’interno verso i violenti sia all’esterno verso le dittature con le quali ha stabilito alleanze e progetti che non rispecchiano quella grandezza americana tanto rimpianta, ossia quella che aveva promosso il tuo paese come balluardo della democrazia e della difesa dei diritti umani nel mondo. Noi perciò, come J’Accuse chiediamo agli americani di buona volontà di non darti il loro voto, perché questo secondo mandato allontanerà per sempre il sogno americano dagli stessi americani e trasformerà il mondo in un inferno di guerre e di miserie. La nostra speranza è nel ravvedimento dei democratici americani, nel capire che occorra iniziare ad avere un nuovo approccio nelle relazioni internazionali, un approccio di pace e di concordia tra i popoli e soprattutto di avviare una nuova era di progresso economico volto a tutelare l’uomo e l’ambiente. A Biden il nostro appello e il voto affinché si cominci a lavorare per la vera grandezza non solo degli americani ma di tutti gli esseri umani.
