J’Accuse of February 5, 2025 on Trump’s “Trojan Horse” idea to expel Palestinians from Gaza
Who can imagine that the American Tycoon could turn out to be more Zionist than Netanyahu himself? It was he who stopped the war, it doesn’t matter because it had to stop sooner or later. We have seen horror and cruelty that would horrify even the coldest and most indifferent souls. Not even the Nazis were as terrible and cruel to the populations as those of the IDF. But that’s another story and its protagonists are Zionist Jews who have cultures and ideas behind them that are not at all democratic and humane. The idea or project that Trump is advancing to the Palestinians is simply unacceptable: moving to Egypt after an atrocious war that cost the lives of over one hundred thousand Gazans cannot be endorsed by the Palestinians themselves, because they already know that in addition to representing another real Nakba (Forced Immigration in Arabic) for them, it is another clear ploy to have the Gaza Strip annexed by the Israelis, just as over the past decades they have annexed Jerusalem, the Golan Heights, the last annexation dates back to the fall of the Bashar Al Assad regime last December 11, some districts of South Lebanon and the list is long. In fact, the idea itself is fallacious because even if it sets as its goal the fact of saving the Palestinians from the miseries of this cursed war and the promise of rebuilding the entire strip along the lines of the French Riviera, in reality who guarantees the Gazans that they will return after the reconstruction? We know very well that the reconstruction itself will take at least a decade and in the meantime the current protagonists on the international scene like Trump and the others will have already disappeared from the decision-making centers or even died. It is truly horrifying how the rights of the Palestinians have become a bargaining chip and an unsustainable burden for regional and international powers. This says a lot about the political, economic and ethical climate prevailing in the world. Trump or whoever comes after him will not keep the promises of return to the Palestinians and the return itself will be subject to conditions dictated by Israel, that is, by those who committed genocide to avenge the attack of October 7. Unfortunately, in this dramatic moment marked by the moral and political decadence of the Arab-Islamic world that sees the latter divided and subjected to Israel and Western Chancelleries, even if it is worth underlining the fact that the governments of Egypt and Jordan have rejected the idea of welcoming the population of Gaza for obvious partisan political reasons and the defense of national interests, there is nothing left for the Gazans to do but resist behind the trenches of their rubble, taking care of their reconstruction themselves and ultimately remaining the sole negotiators of their destiny.
