J’Accuse of Friday 2025 the Al Masri affair and its political and judicial consequences
There is no doubt that the Al Masri affair had unclear political and judicial contours before his arrest in Italy. He had been in England, Belgium and Germany before arriving in Italy and no magistrate in those countries proceeded with his arrest as requested by the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court. In short, it is not a justification for our government that freed him, but it is a fairly sensible reflection. Why was he not arrested before? Our extreme right-wing government in Rome has already asked the question, but the answer cannot always be that "the others have plotted against us!". For once, we must be consistent and take responsibility. This must also be said to those comrades in opposition starting from Schlein's party who certainly served the "nation" poorly, a word exploited by the Premier, and allowed NATO to upset Gaddafi's Libya (with the OK given by Napoletano), under the pretext of defending international law and human rights trampled by the Libyan dictator. Instead, what happened after the end of Gaddafi's regime turned out to be worse and even handed Libya over to the influence of rival regional and international powers with conflicting interests, among which our country is at the forefront. This is why the Meloni government could do nothing but bring General Al Masri back to Tripoli. His arrest would have been viewed badly by the current leaders in Tripolitania, and would have somehow led to retaliation against our interests, first and foremost those related to Eni and the gas and oil contracts. Furthermore, it would never have been convenient to antagonise these corrupt and irascible leaders of the North African country who would have reconsidered their pacts with Italy. The existence of secret agreements dating back to the time of Minister Minniti is very clear. This is why the services of other European countries, also mindful of the tear made to Berlusconi by tearing Libya from the influence of the deceased Cavaliere, with the invasion of Libya by NATO orchestrated by France, Germany and England, would have somehow wanted to do an encore with the Al Masri affair, even though the two affairs are not comparable in size and scope but in strategy and cunning. In any case, Al Masri is a creature of the West, willingly or not. He is from a political point of view because everything that happened in Libya afterwards was caused by the intervention of NATO and the consequent division of the country and its partition by the regional and international powers. It is also because it is the West that through its intensive and unfair exploitation of the planet's and Africa's resources leads these poor people to leave their countries and fall into the torture prisons of the torturer Al Masri, protected son of those policies and those decisions. But one thing must be said, the Prime Minister cannot fail to take responsibility by placing it on the Italian magistrates who do their job. It is not a question of RED ROBES, as the extreme right shouts, but of a major issue that has internal and international implications in political, economic and geostrategic terms. Poor Italians cannot always be told lies and that the country is threatened by those who only do their job. The notification of the opening of the Al Masri investigation is an act that is due simply because there are illegalities and oddities such as having accompanied a torturer home on a state plane. Let her come and explain it instead of shouting that touching Giorgia is equivalent to touching national interests. But it was better to always tell the truth and not hide behind the now obsolete slogan: L’Eta c’est moi, I am the nation of the Sun King, Louis XIV.
